Some people say the holes in Crocs allow your feet to breathe, but others believe that they're just there for decoration. So what's the truth?
The holes in crocs are for:
- Air ventiliation - letting your feet breathe and keeps them cool
- The holes improve circulation in the feet
- They help with drainage so your feet don't get wet
- The holes make the shoes lighter and more comfortable to wear
- And finally, they allow you to customise your crocs...
All in all, crocs are great shoes for staying cool and comfortable in the summertime. With their soft, flexible material, crocs are ideal for almost any outdoor activity, from gardening to going to the beach.

Why do some Crocs not have holes?
Crocs actually come in a variety of styles. Some designs lack the 13 holes we see on the traditional croc, and this is largely to accomodate for different customers.
The Crocs company understood that medical staff such as doctors, nurses and dentisits need a shoe with comfort, but also protection. Hospitals and surgeries can be dangerous environments and it was understood that the traditional Croc doesn't protect from hazardous spills or items dropped. With this in mind, Croc RX was developed without any holes and is ideal for medical staff.
